2009 Raffle Quilt

This queen-sized quilt was pieced by many members of the guild and was machine quilted by one of the guild members. The pattern is called “Jewel Box” and the colors chosen really sparkle like gems. You’ll be so happy when you win, so be sure to buy some tickets, which are available from any member.

Tickets will be available through members, starting in March.

2009 Quilt Show: Block By Block

Our biannual quilt show will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 23 through the 25th.

Each day the hours will be from 10am to 4pm.

The 2009 Quilt Show will be held at the Westerly Armory located at 8 Dixon Street, Westerly RI. Location at Google Maps

There will be hundreds of quilts to inspire you and make you wonder, “How did they do that?” There will be scheduled Q&A sessions so that visitors can ask the quilters just that. There will also be scheduled demonstrations to benefit both the beginner and the experienced quilter.

Vendors will be present to tempt us with new fabrics, tools, machines and much more. Give in and get that bolt of fabric you cannot do without! You can even buy a beautiful handmade basket to carry your purchases in.

There will be a Gently Used Books table which also features magazines and patterns and small tools and gadgets. There is a donation jar at this worthwhile stop.

Children can enjoy a make-and-take corner. Our guild likes to see those smiling faces and we hold free raffles for children to win quilts and, this year, their very own sewing machine! (Two quilts and two machines have been donated.)

New this year, we will have a Scrap Table where people can fill a zip-lock bag for $2. The scraps will be replenished throughout the show.

Members will also be stocking a Boutique with small, handmade treasures that are perfect for gifts. Members get together throughout the year to craft items like placemats, glass cases, Christmas ornaments, etc.

An exciting area of our show is the Miniature Quilt Silent Auction. Quilts are 24” or smaller and they are gems! The auction ends on Sunday afternoon at 2pm. (We are happy to mail quilts to winner, if need be.)

After having your fill of colors and patterns, many people enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea and a snack at our Quilter’s Café. Relax and have a nice chat; there is no rush.

Adults are asked to make a $5 donation; children are warmly welcome to just enjoy the show.

You will have a great time at our quilt show. The quilts are fabulous, and the quilters--even better!
